PITTSFORD, N.Y. - After a preseason opening win the Bills back on the practice field Monday. A short week with the Vikings coming to Ralph Wilson Stadium on Friday.
The Bills saw contributions from all sides of the ball against the Colts, but the play of their two rookie quarterbacks may have stood out. EJ Manuel got the start and led a touchdown drive in the two minute drill. Jeff Tuel also tossing two scores. Veteran QB Kevin Kolb working his way back, saw some team reps Monday. But Manuel has continued to grow, now with his first NFL game action under his belt.
"This is big time, this is the elite of the elite," Manuel said. "Playing against and playing with guys you grew up watching on TV on the opposing team and on my team. It’s a great feeling and once the first snap was out of the way, it was football."
"We were looking for certain things in it, the intangibles," head coach Doug Marrone said. "We know that he has the ability to do it, so we were looking for the reaction. And again, you saw him settle into the game and then really start to do some really good things."
