Pettine gets 2nd interview with Browns

BUFFALO, N.Y. — Bills defensive coordinator Mike Pettine is getting a second interview with the Cleveland Browns for their vacant head coaching job, while another candidate has taken his name out of consideration.

Broncos offensive coordinator Adam Gase has told the Browns he is not interested.

The second interview between Pettine and the Browns is scheduled for Tuesday evening according to reports. The Browns are in search of a new head coach after firing Rob Chudzinski after one season.

Pettine is drawing interest after the Bills finished the season 10th in the NFL in overall defense, and 2nd in both sacks and interceptions in his first year in charge of the unit.

Pettine left the New York Jets to join the staff in Buffalo led by Doug Marrone last offseason.

Cleveland is the only team without a head coach at this point. They are also reportedly interested in Seattle defensive coordinator Dan Quinn. ClientIP:, UserAgent: CCBot/2.0 ( Profile: TWCSAMLSP
