BUFFALO, NEW YORK - One of the veterans Sabres General Manager Tim Murray brought on onboard this week is one who is quite familiar with with his new team.
Matt Moulson returns to the Sabres after he was shipped off to Minnesota at the March deadline. At the time of the deal, Moulson was Buffalo's team leader in both goals and points.
He signed a five-year deal worth $25 million on Tuesday. With that length of contract, Moulson will be in the fold for both the early stages of the rebuild and hopefully the success that follows.
"If he starts as a first line left winger now and he ends up being a second line left winger, that's all good stuff for me still," Murray said. "I think we're a better team today. I think that we can provide him with good line mates and allow him to do what he does, which is score."
