ORCHARD PARK, N.Y. - A busy weekend and busy time ahead over at One Bills Drive. After re-shaping the roster during the NFL draft, the team continues voluntary conditioning work this week, followed by rookie mini-camp starting Saturday.
There were bold moves for general manager Doug Whaley and company, starting with a splash for Sammy Watkins. Multiple trades - including adding running back Bryce Brown. Running back Anthony Allen was cut by the Bills Monday.
The team also bulking up in the trenches, selecting three offensive linemen over the course of the draft - Cyrus Kouandjio out of Alabama, Cyril Richardson from Baylor and Seantrel Henderson from Miami. All three are at least 6 feet 5 inches tall and over 320 pounds.
"You look at the defensive linemen that are in this division and you’re going against everyone in New York to the guys in Miami and obviously the players in New England and then you look at the players we’re getting," head coach Doug Marrone said. "The people inside, everyone is getting bigger players, at least in our division if you look at it. We’re doing it for the matchups so that we can matchup with those players inside."
