Thad Lewis was absent from practice with sore ribs and the flu on Wednesday. He took several big hits in last weekend's loss to the Saints. Head coach Doug Marrone said there's a 50-50 chance Lewis will be able to play this week.
EJ Manuel was out on the practice field, but likely a few weeks away from coming back from his sprained knee.
That means Jeff Tuel or Matt Flynn could get the nod against Kansas City.
"I've been going through the process since training camp with Kevin going down and EJ's little ding, so I honestly have been thrown into situations even if it wasn't in a game since I got here I feel like, so I'm not going to change anything. I'm going to prepare the same way. Coach Marrone walked into the room and said it could be anybody," Tuel said.
"It was good to get out there and be able to call the play and just go through the mechanics of everything. The plays we're running, the same stuff you've done everywhere. Everyone kind of has the same concepts, but it's just a matter of getting the operation down, getting the communication down with the line, and letting them hear your voice and things like that so," said Flynn.
CJ Spiller was limited after missing last game with an ankle sprain. He's day-to-day according Marrone.
Marquise Goodwin, Manny Lawson and Kraig Urbik are also limited.
Fred Jackson, Stevie Johnson and Kyle Williams all sat out practice.
