BUFFALO, N.Y.-- The Bills were off Sunday but fans were still chatting about the team.
Fan favorite Brian Moorman was brought back after being released last year.
Moorman served 12 seasons in the league with the team.
His replacement, Shawn Powell was cut Friday after losing to the Cleveland Browns the night before.
Some fans say it’s good to see a familiar face.
"They should have never let him go, so now what do they got, nothing,” said Lorraine Osborn of Amherst. “But the only good thing is that they can bring him in, he knows the scheme."
"He's been the best player for the Bills for the last ten years so Bills fans are pretty excited that we have him back,” said Kevin MacMillan of Lewiston. “Hopefully he can be as good as he used to be."
The announcement comes as fans are also wondering about the Bills quarterback spot.
It's unclear when EJ Manuel will be back on the field after an LCL sprain.
ESPN is reporting Pat White and Dennis Dixon have been in for workouts and that the team is in contact with Josh Freeman.
"The best person on the market would be Josh Freeman, the most game ready,” said Matt Sbarra of Buffalo. “He’ll give you the best chance to win, right now, if that's what you want to do."
"Freeman's running out of options and I don't think Buffalo is the place for him,” said Manuel Batcho. “EJs our route, Tuel needs a little bit more experience and he would do well with us."
“So Pat White I would probably pass on that, and Josh Freeman, as you can see what he did in Tampa Bay, he was a cancer," said Joe Kirbis of Tonawanda.
Others think none of the current options are suitable.
"Personally, I like Tavaris Jackson but he's with the Seahawks now so he would have been my first choice," said Jack Welsh of Clarence.
"I think they should just get Tim Tebow to be honest with you, I mean he's a winner and he would be perfect in the spread option offense with Marrone,” said MacMillan. “I mean the guy, someone needs to give this guy a shot."
Bills fans say they're hoping Manuel makes a swift recovery.
They say while they think the team's playoffs are limited this year, they're always optimistic about next season.
