BUFFALO, NY--Dozens of people braved Sunday's rain to enjoy a party for a charitable organization that helps families on Buffalo's East Side.
The first ever "Summer in the City" party raised money for the Lt. Col. Matt Urban Center Sunday. Attendees enjoyed food, drinks and live music from rock band Hotel Bravo.
The Matt Urban Center offers services to underprivileged families on the East Side. Center officials say the housing, employment and youth programs benefit those in need in the City of Good Neighbors.
"We have several food pantries, clothing closets, we provide housing, weatherization services. Just about any kind of service you could want or need if you are a low-income community resident," said Marlies Wesolowski.
Organizers expect to raise more than five thousand dollars for the Matt Urban Center.
