WEST SENECA, N.Y.-- Dozens of people showed their support for the Children's Psychiatric Center in West Seneca Sunday.

In October of 2013, The New York State Office of Mental Health announced they would merge the CPC with the Buffalo Psych Center.

The Save Our Western New York CPC Committee has fought to keep the center open.
Though the group has seen widespread support from Erie County and state legislators, the Office of Mental Health is moving forward with the consolidation.
Sunday's fundraiser will help the committee continue their fight.

"Kids need special, separate treatment," said David Chudy, Co-Chair of the Save Our WNYCPC Committee. "That facility, right now, is the highest rated facility in the entire state. It has the lowest readmission rate."
