BUFFALO, N.Y. --Girl Scouts of Western New York honored dozens of young women Saturday for helping out in the community.
The organization's highest honor, the gold award, was handed out to 46 young women
from across Western New York.
These young women completed at least 80 hours of community service. They worked on creating community projects that help with homelessness and to help cancer patients.
Girl Scouts of Western New York says that by achieving the Gold Award, the girls gain confidence not only in themselves, but in knowing that they are creating projects that will help people for years to come.
