SALAMANCA, N.Y. - Snowmobile racing enthusiasts have finally got what they've been waiting for as the AMSOIL Snocross Championship got underway Friday in Salamanca.
Thousands of spectators have filled the grandstands at the Seneca Allegany Casino to watch the world's best snowmobile racers compete.
Although this is the first time this event has come to Western New York, coordinators say they are confident that the economic impact will be huge.
"We think it's going to be a very busy weekend. People are very excited about coming out. And again I think this will help everything from Salamanca to Ellicottville from Jamestown to Olean. This is a real positive to bring in a big event for the region," said Jim Wise, Seneca Casinos Senior VP of Marketing.
Racing continues through Sunday and tickets can be purchased at the door.
