BUFFALO, N.Y. -- Congressman Brian Higgins said the U.S. Postal Service may be planning to close the Mail Processing Facility on William Street this year.
The Postal Service announced last May the facility would stay open until 2015.
Higgins said the Postal Service is quietly taking action to empty out the facility by as soon as June Which would affect more than 360 jobs.
Local employees were notified last week that Buffalo is being considered in a study that would move consolidation up to June 1st.
Higgins said he sent a letter to the Postmaster General asking for clarification on the study.
