NIAGARA FALLS, N.Y. — People in Niagara Falls gave it another shot and fought for $30,000 to fund an arts and cultural center there.

Tuesday night, residents showed up at Niagara Falls City Hall to make their voices heard.

The money was recently cut by the city council. The money goes to pay the Niagara Arts and Cultural Center’s electric bills.

After the vote for the budget cuts, the Oishei Foundation offered to donate $15,000 if the city would put up the other $15,000, but that proposal was shot down again.

"We have to keep being depressed and you take away from the youth of this community something that will form their tomorrows? That's unconscionable. We need to do better. We can do better," said Charles LaGreca, NACC board member.

City council members have said that their hands are tied because of the lack of casino revenue.

The NACC board members will meet Wednesday to decide their next move. ClientIP:, UserAgent: CCBot/2.0 ( Profile: TWCSAMLSP
