DA speaks out against 'frivolous appeals' as conviction in deadly shooting is upheld

  • Text size: + -

BUFFALO, N.Y. — A man who appealed his conviction in a deadly shooting back in 2010 has had his original conviction upheld.

Erie County District Attorney Frank Sedita says Kasiem Williams, who previously waived his right to appeal twice, appealed his manslaughter conviction, causing Sedita's Office to devote resources needed elsewhere to uphold the conviction.

Williams was found guilty of manslaughter in the fatal shooting of Virgil Page back on June 5th, 2010 on 19th Street in Buffalo.

Sedita says he's frustrated that taxpayer dollars are being wasted on "frivolous appeals" for admitted violent felons. ClientIP:, UserAgent: CCBot/2.0 ( Profile: TWCSAMLSP
