BUFFALO, N.Y. -- One of the Buffalo Zoo's spectacled bear celebrated a major milestone Sunday.
Diana, one of three spectacled bears at the Zoo, celebrated her 34th birthday.
Diana is the oldest spectacled bear in captivity. The endangered species regularly only live into their mid twenties.
Zookeepers gave Diana an angel food cake, and gifts filled with grapes and other treats.
"Diana has a lot of keepers that do love her, because she has been here so long, and lived here most of her life," said Alicia DuBrava, Buffalo Zoo animal keeper. "So a lot of people have been lucky to work with her, so she is cherished by most of the staff."
Diana became a grandmother last month when her daughter Bille Jean had two cubs, at the National Zoo in Washington D.C.
