Adoption fees at the Niagara County SPCA have been waived through Christmas Eve.
As the facility continues efforts to become kill-free, leaders there decided to hold the special in order to find an influx of dogs homes for the holidays.
The shelter is open until 5 p.m. Sunday and from 10:30 a.m. to noon Monday.
The SPCA is trying to move on from last year's scandal involving former director John Faso.
An investigation found hundreds of animals were needlessly euthanized.
