Sunday brought another disappointing game to Ralph Wilson Stadium. The Bills lost in the final seconds to the St. Louis Rams, ending any hope of making the playoffs. Now, YNN's Kaitlyn Lionti tells us, Bills fans are calling for change - but a former player says they need to be patient.
BUFFALO, N.Y. -- It was a game fans say the Bills should have won. The Bills are now 5-8 and the loss to the Rams Sunday sparked conversations of what the team should do going forward.
"Some big changes do need to happen, starting with either the head coach or the quarterback definitely. I think Fitzpatrick's day has ended and we need to start fresh in the draft," said Joshua Haynes, a Bills fan.
"I came in for the game, I came all the way from Los Angeles, and I now have to blame Chan Gailey for me losing my voice, and it sucks. I'm really disappointed in the coaching, all year long," said Charles Klapow, another fan.
"I think they should get a quarterback. I don't think there's anything wrong with Fitzpatrick except they don't have the personnel to fit him," said Don Metz, who is also a Bills fan.
Social media sites like Facebook are buzzing with many of the same thoughts, but former Buffalo Bill Ruben Brown says the fans need to give the team and the coaching staff some time.
"It doesn't always work as easy as people think, just plug in a great player and you start winning, it doesn't work that way. Unfortunate for the Bills, they've had injuries, they've had lackluster play," said Brown. "The coaching staff, what they have to do is just be more in tune to the ebb and flow of the game and the players. Who's hot, who's not."
Fans we spoke with say they think there's potential on the team. Brown agrees the players have talent, and says they just need to be consistent.
"That's their goal, so they're efficient when they run their plays, so they can take advantage of the opportunities when they're there and so they can cut down on the mishaps and the mistakes," said Brown.
The Bills head to Toronto Sunday to take on the Seahawks.
