CHEEKTOWAGA, N.Y. - Police in Cheektowaga surrounded an I-Hop on Walden Avenue after a call came in saying people inside were being held hostage.

Police say the six people who were inside the building were able to get out safely.

Our crews got to the restaurant around 10:30 Sunday night.

Police had the I-Hop completely surrounded with their guns drawn, looking into windows of the restaurant.

Police say they're still investigating what exactly happened.

They say none of the suspects were inside the time when they entered the building just after midnight.

The only description of the suspects that they have are that they were two men, one armed with a knife, and the other with a handgun.

Police say the two men tried to get into the restaurant's safe, but were unsuccessful.

Surrounding side streets were blocked off as a precaution as they investigated.

SWAT teams were also called to help. ClientIP:, UserAgent: CCBot/2.0 ( Profile: TWCSAMLSP
