  • Text size: + -

BUFFALO, NY--Buffalo Place and National Grid teamed up Saturday evening to light up a new holiday season at Fountain Plaza.

Thousands gathered for the 29th annual Christmas Tree lighting in downtown Buffalo, which featured ice skating, music, and even an appearance from Santa Claus.
Buffalo place officials say the event is a perfect way to celebrate the holidays, as well as the City of Buffalo.

Buffalo Place Executive Director Michael T. Schmand said, "This is the beginning of the holiday season in downtown. Theatre district is up and running. It's just a great atmosphere to come down and enjoy your downtown."

The rotary rink at Fountain Plaza will be open through March 17th. ClientIP:, UserAgent: CCBot/2.0 ( Profile: TWCSAMLSP
