BUFFALO, N.Y. -- Attorney General Eric Schneiderman has announced an agreement for new procedures with two gun show operators.

Schneiderman says an investigation into gun sales showed that sales of guns off the books presents a great risk for safety.

Show operators Niagara Frontier Collectors and New Eastcoast Arms Collectors have partnered with the Attorney General for the new guidelines.

New measures will now be put into place to help prevent those who cannot pass a background check from buying firearms at these shows.

"Most gun shops, most regular gun dealers, have very good records at conducting background checks," said Schneiderman. "There is just this huge imbalance between the conduct of vendors at gun shows and the conduct of folks who run gun shops. We're seeking to plug this loophole."

The new gun show procedures come after an eight-month investigation where undercover officers were able to purchase guns at various gun shows without being able to pass a background check. ClientIP:, UserAgent: CCBot/2.0 ( Profile: TWCSAMLSP
