BUFFALO, N.Y. — The public got a free visit to the Buffalo Museum of Science Monday as part of Independent Health's Community Health Day.
Admission to the museum was free for everyone, and along with the regular exhibits, there were also a number of health-related activities.
The activities for kids and adults focused on exercise, as well as educating people about eating habits and food quality.
Organizers say they were hoping to send a message, especially to the younger visitors.
"Being healthy is fun and easy, and it's something - if you learn at a young age - it's something you'll take through the rest of your life, and hopefully that will translate into a healthier community for everyone," said Valerie Pillo of Independent Health.
The museum also hosted a blood drive and diabetes testing as part of the Health Day.
