Yoga can be a great stress reliever and a way to stay balanced. Geoff Redick has more.

"The biggest benefit I think I've gotten so far from yoga is the mental aspect of it. It has kind of centered my thoughts and pulled them back into place," said Lee Panzica.

The day-to-day competition as a local contractor had been weighing on Lee Panzica's mind.

Panzica said, "I've always been that way. I've always way over thought things."

Then he found yoga.

"Coming to my mat has given me the opportunity to settle my mind and be in one specific place for that specific moment," Panzica said.

"Heart, mind, body and spirit has always been connected," said Jen Edwards. "In today's society, we got so caught up in the physicality of things and so our heart and mind tend to take the backseat every once in a while."

The mission of yoga is to reconnect those four elements: Heart, mind, body and spirit, by learning as much about your intimate self as you can.

Edwards said, "The practice of balance in the studio, translates to balance in life. So you're working on what you learn here and bringing it out into the classroom or your work environment or home environment and balancing all aspects of your life."

For Panzica, the yoga experience has been near-religious. He has opened his own yoga studio and is now publishing the first ever local yoga magazine in Rochester, New York.

Panzica said, "Eventually, I'd like to see it distributed through the mail and through quarterly subscriptions."
